Taken By DeathFuneral rites for a retired Osage teacher, Mrs. Florence Sheumaker, 70, who died September 27, 1980, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, were held Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Osage. The Rev. Jack Speer, pastor, was in charge of the rites and burial was in the Osage Cemetery. Arrangements were by C. R. Champion and Sons.
Florence Finch was born December 30, 1909, in Worth County, the daughter of Frank Melvin and Alice Pike Finch. May 28, 1930 she was married to Harold Sheumaker and they continued to live on farms in the Worth County area until 1960. She then completed her college education and taught in the schools in Osage until retiring in 1973.
Surviving are one son, Richard of Omaha; one daughter, Mrs. Berhard Johnson (Ruth) of Friend, Nebraska; two brothers, Russell Finch of Carpenter and Earl Finch of Forest Lake Minnesota; and one sister, Mrs. Iva Gordon of Waverly; nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband in 1966; her parents, one infant daughter and a sister.
