Irvin Bernhard Johnson was born October 6, 1895 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Hans Lauritz Johnson and Carrie Hansdatter Peterson Alms, the second of their three sons.
Irvin was baptized on November 17, 1895 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. His baptismal sponsors were: Johannes Johnson; Ingeborg Pedersen Alms; Gustave Millard Williams and Gunhild Johnson. He was confirmed at RCLC on June 5, 1910.

1910: Hans Lauritz Johnson 41, Carrie Hansdatter Petersen Alms Johnson 38, Hjalmer Olvin Julius Johnson 15, Irving Johnson 14, Newell Birchard Johnson 6.
1920: Hans L Johnson 50, Carrie Johnson 48, Olvin J Johnson 25, Irvin B Johnson 24, Newell B Johnson 14.

Irvin moved to Missouri where he worked as a cement contractor. He married Lela Barger Simmons on December 16, 1942 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The couple had 1 daughter.
Irvin B Johnson died July 29, 1979 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri and was buried at the New Lorimier Cemetery, Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
