MARIE BREWER DIED OF ILLNESS
Funeral services were held on February 28, 1981, at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville, for Mrs. Marie Brewer, 68, of Riceville, who died Febuary 25, 1981, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery in Riceville.
Marie Jahnke was born on June 22, 1912, in Iowa City, the daughter of Henry and Mary Badji Jahnke. She spent her early childhood in Muscatine, later moving with her family to Iowa City where she completed her education. She also attended Olivet Nazarine College.
Oliver Brewer and Marie Jahnke were married on December 29, 1936. They spent their early married life in Ohio, later moving to Moorhead, Minnesota, and then coming to Riceville.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Oliver Brewer of rural Charles City; four daughters, Edith, Mrs. William Peters of Marengo; Marilyn, Mrs. James Rapiah of Nora Springs; Carol Ruth Brewer of Waterloo; and Margaret, Mrs. Calvin Hamann of Grant Park, Illinois; six grandchildren; one sister, Alvina Conrad of Akron, Ohio, and one brother, Henry Jahnke of Iowa City.
Preceding her in death were her parents, one granddaughter and one brother.

Notes:
Her husband, Oliver Brewer, died in 2008, and he is buried at Tripoli, Iowa. See his obituary on the Floyd county obits board. Oliver had married Helen Tack in 1983, and she survived him.
