Mr. and Mrs. August Schmidt of Riceville received word that her brother, Rollin T. Banks, 77, died on February 12, 1981 in a Bloomington, Illinois, hospital.

Services were held on February 14, in Ottumwa. Rollin Banks was a 1923 graduate of Riceville High School and was a member of the first football team there. His profession was that of teaching. His first school taught during 1923-1924 was east of Riceville, known as the Dargan School. Adolf Brunner of Riceville was one of his pupils.

Rollin Banks was united in marriage to Mabel Graves in Riceville, August 28, 1928. They were the parents of three children.
