Funeral services for Mrs. Frieda Duenow, 86, of St. Ansgar, will be held Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church east of Grafton. Mrs. Duenow died at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage on February 21, 1981.
Rev. R. Zellmer, church pastor, will be in charge of the rites, and burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being made by C.R. Champion and Sons.
Frieda Louise Apel was born on November 3, 1894, near Rudd, Iowa, the daughter of Martin and Magdelina Mausehund Apel. She married Paul Duenow on February 17, 1920. They established their home on a farm south of St. Ansgar and she continued to reside there until seven years ago, when she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in St. Ansgar.
Preceding her in death were her husband Paul; her parents; two brothers, Melvin and Henry Apel; and one sister, Mrs. Verna Drake.
Surviving are two sons, Eldon and Melvin of rural Osage; one daughter, Lucille, Mrs. Roy Koci of Mason City; three granddaughters; three sisters, Clara of Charles City, Gertrude of Rudd and Mrs. Sophie Manlove of Mason City.
