Funeral services were held September 2, 1971, for Dewey Campbell, 73, a resident of the Otranto community, who died August 30, 1971, at the Veteran's hospital in St. Paul. Mr. Campbell had been hospitalized for a time at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital before going to the St. Paul hospital.

Rev. D. Ashley of Bethel Alliance Church in Lyle, and Rev. E. Unseth, church pastor, were in charge of the services at the Mona Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Woodbury cemetery, Mower county, Minnesota.

Dewey James Campbell was born on May 23, 1898, on a farm near Meltonville, the son of Wilmer J. and Randena Anderson Campbell.

Rosa Anna Schlosser of Nora Springs and Dewey Campbell were married on August 23, 1919. They lived in Worth and Mitchell counties before moving to Otranto in 1928.

Mr. Campbell was a grain and livestock dealer most of his life.

Surviving are his son, Roger Campbell; two granddaughters of Lyle; one brother, Robert W. of Austin; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Anderson of Austin, Mrs. B.F. Wilson (Cora) of Miami, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa, who died in 1962; his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Donald Campbell.

Casket bearers were: Kenneth Goplerud, Emil Johnson, George Fossey, Everest Buehrer, Alden Qualey and Glenn Kuenkel.
