WINKELS, THEOBALD, KLECKNER, FRIEND

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Katie Winkels, 78, of Osage, on August 20, 1971. Mrs. Winkels died at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar, Iowa, on August 17, 1971. She had been in failing health for the past several years.

Rev. D. Winkels was in charge of the rites at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, assisted by Rev. Thomas Carpender of Meyer and Rev. D. Raftis, church pastor. Arrangements were by C. R. Champion and Sons, and burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage.

Katie Theobald was born on October 21, 1892, in the Stacyville, Iowa, community, the daughter of Jacob and Margaret Theobald. She lived all her life in this area.

Nicholas Winkels and Katie Theobald were married on August 26, 1913. They farmed in the Meyer and McIntire area until 1946, when they retired to Osage.

Survivors include three sons, Albin, Paul and Lambert of McIntire; one daughter, Mrs. Edward Kleckner of Owatonna; one sister, Mrs. Amanda Friend of McHenry, Illinois; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
