Funeral services were held Thursday, April 16, 1987 at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City, Iowa, for Ray A. Marreel, 78, of Charles City. Rev. McClun of Bethany Alliance Church, Charles City, officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.
Ray was born on November 26, 1908 in Belgium, to Hector and Hermine (Partmentier) Marreel. He received is education in the Carpenter area.
He married Huberta Knight on May 29, 1040 in Osage. He farmed in the Osage area from 1925 to 1947. Mr. Marreel was a self-employed truck driver. He retired in 1963. He was a foster grandparent at Comprehensive Systems from 1979 to 1981.
Survivors include his wife, Huberta of Charles City; three daughters: Mrs. Bud (Carol) Fisher of Nashua, Mrs. David (Maralee) Crooks of Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Ronald (Susan) Bilharz of Nashua; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Mary Marreel of Osage; and four brothers: Maurice of Mesa, Arizona, George of Osage, Walter of Austin, Minnesota, and Enri of Mesa, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
