Brita (Britha) Aadsdatter Himle was born October 28, 1832 at Voss, Hordaland, Norway to Aad (Odd) Nielsen Himle and Birthe Johannesdatter. Brithe was baptized on November 11, 1832 and confirmed on October 10, 1847 at Voss, Norway.

Birth/baptismal record at Norwegian Digital Archives online for Voss, Hordaland, Norway 1823-1837, page 106, entry # 180.

Confirmation record at Norwegian Digital Archives, Voss, Hordaland, Norway 1837-1847, page 58, entry # 31.

Family found in the Norwegian Digital Archives on-line for Voss, Hordaland, Norway 1845-1855 as leaving Norway to emigrate to Wisconsin: page 98, entries # 16-21: Odd Nielsen Himle age 47; wife Brithe Johannesdatter age 48; Children: Britha age 20; Randvei age 16; Niels age 11; Inger age 5. Left Voss, Hordaland Norway on May 11, 1852.

Family also found on a passenger list emigrating from Bergen, Norway. Arrival Date: July 16, 1852; Port of Arrival: New York, New York, U.S. on Ship "Bjorgiven". Traveled on to Wisconsin. Ole, born 1805, age 47; Brite born 1804, age 48; Brite born 1833, age 19; Maria age 17, born 1835; Inger age 5, born 1847; Niels age 10, born 1842.

Brite (Britha) married Hans Halvorsen Wambeim ( Wambeam) on April 15, 1855 at Spring Prairie, Walworth, Wisconsin. The couple moved to MItchell County, Iowa (at least by 1864) and believe they had 8 children, (Still looking for 6 of the children's names.) The 4th child was Halvor Hansen Wambeim (born April 1863, died August 19, 1864, both at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa and buried at the Riverview Cemetery south of St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa). Another son was named Halvor Edward Wambeim and born May 26, 1865, died August 25, 1865 both at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa. He was also buried at the Riverview Cemetery south of St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

Britha died October 20, 1879 at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa and cannot find her burial site yet.

Her husband, Hans Halvorsen Wambeim, was born in Norway, emigrated to Wisconsin and died January 18, 1916 at Ramsey, North Dakota.

Ole, born 1805, age 47; Brite born 1804, age 48; Brite born 1833, age 19; Maria age 17, born 1835; Inger age 5, born 1847; Niels age 10, born 1842.

Brita (Britha) married Hans Halvorsen Wambeim (or Wambeam) on April 15, 1855 at Spring Prairie, Walworth, Wisconsin.

Found in the 1860 census living at Leeds, Columbia, Wisconsin: Hans Halverson 34, Betsey Halverson 27, Halvor D Halverson 2.

The couple moved to MItchell County, Iowa (at least by 1864) and had 8 children.

Found in the 1870, 1880 censuses living at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa (names changed to Hans & Betsey Halvorsen): 1870: Hans Holverson 40, Betsey Holverson 37, John Holverson 9, Emma Holverson 3/12. 1880: Hans Halverson 56, Betsy Halverson 47, John Halverson 19, Amanda Halverson 10, Helver Halverson 5, Maria C. Nelson 17 (niece, Randvi & Steen Nelson's daughter), Betsy C. Nelson 74 (Brithe Johannesdatter Nielsen Himle).

Also found in the 1880 census Mortality Schedule....for year ending May 1880. Says she died October 1879 from lung fever. Britha died October 20, 1879 Rock, Mitchell, Iowa and cannot find her burial site yet. (Confusing why she appears in the 1880 census.) She HAS to be buried at either the Riverview Cemetery south of St Ansgar, Iowa or at the First Lutheran Cemetery in St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

3. Halvor Hansen Halvorsen Wambeim (born April 1863 Rock, Mitchell, Iowa, died August 19, 1864 same, buried at Riverview Cemetery, St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa).

4. Halvor Edward Halvorsen Wambeim (born May 26, 1865 Rock, Mitchell, Iowa, died August 25, 1865 same, buried at Riverview Cemetery).

5. Emma Amanda Halvorsdatter Wambeim (born May 3, 1870 Rock, Mitchell, Iowa, married Ole I Thon, died November 24, 1935 Mower, Minnesota; buried at Little Cedar Cemetery, Adams, Mower, Minnesota, FAG#17276403).

6. Halvor "Hallie" Halvorsen Wambeim (born July 21, 1874 Rock, Mitchell, Iowa, married Hannah Dorothy Robertson, died between 1920-1925 at Otranto, Mitchell, Iowa.)
