Randvi Maria Aadsdatter Himle was born February 4, 1836 at Voss, Hordaland, Norway to Aad (Odd) Nielsen (Nelson) Himle and Brithe Johannesdatter, the second of their four children.
Randvi was baptized on February 28, 1836 at Voss, Norway. Birth/baptismal record found at the Norwegian Digital Archives on line for Voss, Hordaland, Norway; 1823-1837, page 146, entry #86, States her name as Randvi Aadsdatter Himle; parents: Aad Nielsen Himle and Brithe Johannesdatter. Baptismal sponsors: Niels Tostseinssen;Ole Johannesdat Nyhre; Sigrid Larsdatter ?; Anne Larsdatter Himle; Brithe Johannesdatter Himle. (not sure names are deciphered correctly).
Randvi left Norway with her parents and siblings to emigrate to America. Family found in the Norwegian Digital Archives on-line for Voss, Hordaland, Norway 1845-1855 leaving May 11, 1852: page 98, entries # 16-21: Odd Nielsen Himle age 47; wife Brithe Johannesdatter age 48; Children: Britha age 20; Randvei age 16; Niels age 11; Inger age 5.
Next found on a passenger list leaving Bergen, Norway and headed to New York City. Arrival date July 16, 1852; Port of Arrival: New York, New York, U.S.; traveled on Ship "Bjorgiven". Traveled on to Wisconsin: Ole, born 1805, age 47; Brite born 1804, age 48; Brite born 1833, age 19; Maria age 17, born 1835; Inger age 5, born 1847; Niels age 10, born 1842. The family settled at Leeds, Columbia, Wisconsin.
Found in the 1860 census living at Leeds, Columbia, Wisconsin: Odd Nelson 54, Betsey Nelson 55, Maria Nelson 24, Nels Nelson 19, Inger Nelson 13.
Randvi used the name Maria after emigration. She married Steen Nelson on September 11, 1861 at Columbia, Wisconsin. The couple had 1 daughter. Cecilia Maria Nielsen (born May 20, 1863 Mitchell, Iowa, died January 17, 1890 Mitchell, Iowa). (Steen Nelson was born in Norway and died May 4, 1864 at Mitchell County, Iowa; buried at Riverview Cemetery, Newburg, Mitchell, Iowa).
Randvi Maria next married Rollef Isaaksen (later known as Robert Isaacs) on October 7, 1865 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.
The couple had 2 children: Steena Susannah (born 1867 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa) and Edward (born March 1868 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa).
Found in the1870 census living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Robt Isaacs 40, Maria Isaacs 33, Mary Isaacs 12, Cornelia Isaacs 10, Cornelius Isaacs 10, Mary Nelson 7, Stena Nelson 4, Edward Nelson 3, James Benson 22.
Randvi Maria Aadsdatter Himle Nelson Isaacs died April 9, 1871 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa and was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Burial record found in "Early Rock Creek Burials": Randvie Olsdatter (error, should be Aadsdatter); 35 years, died 4/9/1871.
