Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 5, 1986, in Wayside Chapel of the First United Methodist Church in Mason City, Iowa, for Mrs. Everett (Gladys) Martin, 66, of Mason City. She died on Monday, November 3, 1986 at a Mason City Hospital. Rev. C. Wallace officiated, and burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
Mrs. Martin was born on February 27, 1920 at Charles City, Iowa, to John and Ida (Anderson) Betts. She graduated from Osage High School in 1939.
On October 10, 1964, she married Everett Martin at Iowa City. They lived on a farm near Osage until 1975 when she moved to Mason City. Mr. Martin died in 1974. While living in Osage, Mrs. Martin worked as a nurses aide at the Osage hospital, then at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City, until last August.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Mason City.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Norbert (Diane) Kisley of Mason City, and Pamela Willert of Omaha, Nebraska; two sisters, Mrs. Melvin (Adelaide) Lindley of Osage and Mrs. Donald (Josephine) Shrode of Aurora, Colorado; two brothers, Ervin Betts of Osage, and Hilding Lindley of Dakota City, and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter; and three brothers.
