Funeral services for William Pilgrim, 96, of Osage, Iowa, who died on Thursday, August 28, 1986, at an Osage hospital, were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Champion Funeral Home.

Rev. J. Newland of First Baptist Church, Osage, officiated with burial in the Osage Cemetery.

Mr. Pilgrim was a truck driver and delivered ice and coal in the early years of his career. In later years he was a freight driver.

He was born on February 12, 1890, at Moscow, Minnesota, to Fred and Anna (Morgan) Pilgrim. He left home at the age of 14 and moved to North Dakota where he worked as a farmhand for ten years. He was married to Ruth Bigelow on October 29, 1914 in Albert lea, Minnesota. They lived in Osage until moving to Mason City in 1949. They returned to Osage in 1979. Mr. Pilgrim died in 1985.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Wildora) Merrill of Osage; two sons, Earl, Mason City and Maurice of Osage; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; and a half-brother, Milo Morgan, of Austin.
