FUNERAL RITES WERE HELD
FOR MRS. JOE JOHNSONFuneral services were held at Little Cedar Saturday in the Methodist church for Mrs. Joseph Johnson, 88, who died Thursday at her home. Rev. Rollin Oswald officiated and burial was in the Little Cedar Cemetery.
Bessie Hultman was born August 20, 1861 in Sweden. She came to Illinois at the age of 21 and the following year came to Osage.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Johnson in 1886. They made their first home on a farm east of Osage, and later lived in Burr Oak township and near Little Cedar. In 1918 they retired to town.
Surviving are five sons: Albert, Oscar and Peter, all of Little Cedar, Arthur of Red Wing, Minnesota, and Glenn of Osage; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Annette Hultman of Independence, also survive.
Preceding her in death were a daughter, Clara, and two brothers, August and Patrick.
