OBITUARY-
AUSTIN -- Lester Vaughn, 76, of Mapleview, a former employee of Larson Products of Sargeant, died Thursday (Nov. 4, 1993) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
He was born July 1, 1917, in Mitchell County, Iowa, attended Austin schools and lived in the Mapleview area most of his life. On April 10, 1981, he married Eleanor Thurneau in Austin. Mr. Vaughn worked for Thompson and Lewison Construction Co. and later for Larson Products of Sargeant. He was a member of the Moose and Eagles lodges and Crane Community Chapel.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lanny of Kalispell, Mont., and Elliot of Mapleview; a daughter, Sara (Mrs. Cliff) Davis of Austin, Texas; three stepdaughters, Vickie (Mrs. Larry) Waltz of Austin, Vonda (Mrs. Howard) Underwood of Mesa, Ariz., and Cheryl Farnsworth of Winona; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Katheran Johnson of Mapleview; and a brother, Lloyd of Watseka, Ill. He was preceded in death by a wife, two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Crane Community Chapel in Austin with the Rev. Joe Matt officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin and an hour before the service Sunday at the church.
