#1:LORRAINE DORA GARRISON
Lorraine Dora Garrison, daughter of Arthur andOllie A. Christy, was born August 14, 1906, near Shawnee, Oklahoma. She moved with her parents to Nevada, Iowa, at the age of 11. She attended the public schools and high school at Nevada.
On March 1, 1924, she was united in marriage to Theodore R. Garrison of Ames. After a short time in Ames they moved to Mitchell county and located on a farm near Riceville, where they lived 17 years. In 1947 they moved to Howard county to farm near Davis Corners, and in December 1948, they moved to Clarksville.
In youth she was baptized and united with the Christian church in Nevada. When they moved to Mitchell county the Garrisons united with the Community church at Brownsville, later transferring to the Methodist church at Riceville.
Mrs. Garrison was active in Farm Bureau work, 4-H, Red Cross and other community work. She also sang in the Mitchell county chorus.
Surviving are her husband and seven children: Earl Wayne and Theodore, Jr., of Clarksville, Mrs. Herbert (Ruth) Baethke of Riceville, William, James, John and Tommy, all at home.
One son, Christy, died in 1931. Also surviving are three grandsons; her stepmother, Mrs. Mary Christy of Preston, Minnesota; two brothers, Walter of Madras, Oregon, and Earl of Redmond, Oregon; one sister, Christine of Bellflower, Calif.; and a half brother, Robert Tillotson of Garner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Myrtle, and a son.
Mrs. Garrison was killed Sunday night, September 25, 1949, in a car accident near Plainfield. Prayer services were conducted at the Hammel-Martin Funeral Home in Clarksville Thursday morning, September, 29, with Rev. B. Weikel, of the Community officiating.
Her body was taken to Riceville where services were conducted in the Methodist church Thursday afternoon. The sermon was given by Dr. F.W. Court of Waterloo, a long-time friend of the family.
Burial was mae in the family plot in the Osage Cemetery.

#2:MRS. THEO. GARRISON
KILLED IN AUTO
ACCIDENT SUNDAYMrs. Theodore Garrison, 42, of Clarksville, Iowa, and formerly of near Riceville, Iowa, was killed Sunday evening about 7:50 p.m. when the car in which she was riding struck the rail of a bridge on highway 188 a mile east of Plainfield, and went into the Cedar River.
According to reports from Iowa highway patrolmen who investigated the accident, Mrs. Garrison was pinned under the car in about four and a half feet of water and suffered a broken neck.
Also in the car were her husband and two sons, Paul, 9, and John, 11, who were taken to a Waverly hospital. All have been released now.
The family had spent Sunday in Riceville and were returning home when the accident occurred.
Funeral services for Mrs. Garrison will be this afternoon (Thursday) at 2:30 p.m. at the Methodist church in Riceville. Burial will be made in the Osage cemetery.
Mrs. Garrison was also the mother of Earl Garrison, who married Viola Hubbard of Osage last year.
