DIED SUDDENLY
LAST SUNDAYFuneral services for Mrs. Anna Witt, 73, were held Tuesday afternoon, May 3, 1949, at the Plymouth Methodist Church, with Rev. Dale Nicholson officiating. A brief prayer service was held at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage, before going to Plymouth. Rev. C.D. James, pastor of the Osage Methodist church assisted Rev. Nicholson with the services. Burial was made in the Plymouth Cemetery.
Mrs. Witt died suddenly Sunday noon at the Mercy hospital in Mason City. She had submitted to major surgery recently and was getting ready to come home that afternoon when she suffered an embolism with caused her death.
Anna Marie Graper was born April 22, 1876, at Helenville, Wisconsin, to Herman and Henrietta Huebner Graper. In 1898 she married John Witt and they came to Mitchell county, Iowa, settling in Rock township, west of Osage.
Mr. Witt died in 1925 but she maintained the farm home with her children until 1939, when she went to live with Mrs. John Goplerud, her daughter. They moved to Osage this last January.
She is survived by four children: Harold, Roy, Mrs. Goplerud, and Mrs. LeRoy Lesch, all of Osage; seven grandchildren; three brothers: Edwin of Fort Atkinson, Wis., George of Oconomowoc, Wis., and Arthur of Helenville, Wis.; and one sister, Mrs. Robert Filberg of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
