Jessie Howard Field was born May 19, 1901 at Cedar township, Mitchell County, Iowa to Lewis (Lars) Pedersen Fjelde and Hanna Emilia Johnson, the youngest of their four children.
His siblings were:
Mabel Adelia (1893-1984);
Louis Leonard (1894-1982) and
Peter Raymond (1897-1956).

His ancestors were from the Ovre Fjelde farm in Strand, Rogaland, Norway and had emigrated to Iowa. Descendants changed their surname spelling to Field.

Jessie graduated from Northwood High School in Worth County, Iowa. He attended Iowa State College in Ames, Story, Iowa.

Jessie married Twila Lavern St. Peter on January 1927 at Nashua, Chickasaw, Iowa, the couple lived at Mason City, Iowa. (Twila born 1906, died 1983).
They had three children: Avis, Howard and Mary Lee.

Jessie H Field died October 14, 1949 at Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa and is buried at the Elmwood-St. Joseph's Cemetery, Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa.

Found in the 1910 to 1925 censuses living at rural Manly, Lincoln, Worth, IA:
1910: Lewis Field 44, Hanna Emilia Johnson Field 39, Mabel B Field 17, Louis L Field 15, Raymond P Field 13, Jesse H Field 8, Dreng Gunderson 24, Ella Bakker 18.

1915: Jessie H Field age 13.

1925: Lewis L Field 58, Hannah J Field 54, Lewis Johnson 89, Jesse H Field 23, Peter Raymond Field 27, Alvina Field 23.

Found in the 1930, 1940 censuses at Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa: 1930: Jesse H Field 29, Twila Field 23, Avis Field 4, Howard Field 2[2 7/12].

1940: Jesse Field 38, Twila Field 33, Avis Field 14, Howard Field 12, Mary Lee Field 8.
