Theodore Finsand was born June 5, 1890 at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Tosten Olsen Finsand and Margarethe Halvorsdatter, the youngest of their twelve children.
He was baptized in 1890 and confirmed May 29, 1905 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Iowa. Theodore never married nor had children. He was a World War 1 Veteran.
Theodore died December 26,1964 at the Iowa Soldier's Home, Marshalltown, Marshall, Iowa and was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Iowa.
OBITUARY: Theodore Finsand, 1890-1964, Mitchell County, Iowa:
Funeral services for Theodore Finsand, age 74, who died at the Iowa Soldiers' Home in Marshalltown on December 26th, were held at Rock Creek Lutheran church near Osage on December 31st, 1964. Services were conducted by the Rev. Donald L. Berg, pastor of the church. Burial was in the Rock Creek cemetery.
Theodore Finsand was born in Cedar Township on June 5, 1890 to Tosten and Margarethe Finsand. He was baptized and confirmed at Rock Creek Lutheran church. His early education was received in the Meroa school. He worked for a number of farmers in the area, making his home near Meroa until after the death of his parents. His later years were spent with his nephews and niece, and a short stay at the Osage Nursing Home. He suffered a stroke in December 1963, and was moved to the Soldiers' Home in March 1964. He was a veteran of World War I.
Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers, and five sisters. Surviving him are two brothers: Martin, who lives at the Osage Nursing Home, and Oscar, who lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

1900: Torsten Finsand 63, Magrethe Finsand 53, Peder Finsand 23, Chrestian Finsand 21, Martin Finsand 19, Maria Finsand 17, Oscar Finsand 12, Theodor Finsand 9, Annie Olsen 78.
1910: Margarethe Halvorsdatter Finsand 64, Peter Finsand 36, Maria Finsand 26, Theodore Finsand 19.
1915: Theodore Finsand age 24.
1920: Margrethe Finsand 73, Martin Finsand 39, Theodore Finsand 29.
Also in the 1920 census at Rock, Mitchell, IA working as a laborer for the Lawrence & Olga Olsen family; (counted twice) Theodore Finsand age 28.
1925: Margarethe Finsand 78, Peter Finsand 48, Christian Finsand 16, Martin Finsand 44, Theadore Finsand 34.
Went to North Portal, Saskatchewan, Canada on Sept. 3, 1927 (to visit brother Oscar).
1930 at Meroa: Magaret Finsand 83, Peder Finsand 54, Christian Finsand 52, Martin Finsand 50, Theodore Finsand 39.
