NEWLING FUNERAL TO BE MONDAY AT LYLE CHURCH

Lyle, Minn. – Funeral services for Mrs. Jim Newling, 85, will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at the Lyle Lutheran Church. The Rev. Wilbur Junker will officiate. Burial will be at Charles City.

She died Friday afternoon at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage, from pneumonia and complications. She had been hospitalized since April 21.

Mrs. Newling was born in Chickasaw County in 1871 and was married in 1887 to Calvin Jordon, who died in 1895.

In June of 1897, Mrs. Newling was married to Jim Newling. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary last year.

She is survived by her husband; four daughters; Mrs. Fred Tottenham and Daisy Zable, Austin, Minnesota; Mrs. Irving Naber and Mrs. Irving Weber, both of Lyle, Minnesota; two sons, Harry Jordan, Lyle, Minnesota; and Claire Newling, Minneapolis; 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and a sister; Mrs. Jule Permer, Charles City.

Margaret Elnora Barry was born in 1871, the daughter of Thomas A. Barry and Sarah (Tucker) Barry.

She married Calvin Jordan in 1887-1895.

She married James Newling, the son of Henry Newling and Lydia Anne (Wiltse) Newling.

She and both husbands are buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Charles City, Floyd County, Iowa
