ELIZABETH ARENS

Cresco, Iowa – Mrs. Elizabeth Arens, 88, died Wednesday at a rest home here. Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church here. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meyer, Iowa. The Rosary will be said Friday at 9 p.m. at Peckosh Funeral Home.

Surviving are six daughters: Mrs. Jake (Catherine) Steffen, Cresco; Mrs. Leland (Rose) Crum, Riceville; Mrs. Anna Costello, Cresco; Mrs. John L. (Gertrude) Henry, Cresco; Mrs. Peter (Lena) Lund, Minneapolis; Mrs. John (Clara) Hall, St. Paul; a son, Joe, Saratoga; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Smith was born in 1875 in Illinois, the daughter of John A Smith and Mary Sabel Smith. She married Joseph Arens, the son of John Arens and Mary Mertes Arens.
