Esther Mohring, 93, of Edmond, Oklahoma, formerly of Charles City, died Friday, June 1, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Funeral services for Esther Mohring will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Pastor Jim Beranek will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Nashua.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the church an hour prior to the service.

Esther Marie Fods Mohring was born April 29, 1919, at Osage, the daughter of Olaf and Alice (Bremner) Fods. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1938. On October 19, 1939, she was united in marriage to Arnold Mohring. They farmed for many years near Ionia. Esther was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Edmond, the Rebekah Lodge, Navy Mothers and Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed doing needlework and had won many blue ribbons for her crocheted works of the "23rd Psalm" and "The Last Supper". Mom, Granny and Great Granny lived the last twelve years in Edmond near her son Chris and his family. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and sharing her life with them.

Living family members include six children, Arnold (Debbie) Mohring of North Kingstown, R.I., Juanita (Bill) Burke of Leonardo, New Jersey, Ruth (Mike) Whitledge of Princeville, Ill., Beverly (Glenn) Mcqueen of Springdale, Arkansas, Joanne (Dwight) Mussman of Atlanta, Texas, and Chris (Rosie) Mohring of Edmond, Okla.; 15 grandchildren, Eric, Kirsten, Aaron, Tommy, Matthew, Shauna, Jessica, Colleen, Quentin, Micah, Kayla, Adam, Raina, Rustie and Michelle; six beloved great grandchildren, Damien and Nolan, Gracie and Sean, Sabriel and Nikolai and soon to arrive Colton; and a sister, Elizabeth Johnson of Charles City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold on September 5, 1977; and a sister, Margaret Hargrave.
