Edmond O Woodward – September 28, 1843 – March 29, 1878

Edmond Woodward was born Sept 28, 1843, in Orange County, Vermont, the son of Morey Woodward and Mary (Bliss) Woodward. When he was six years of age his parents moved to Rock County, Wisconsin, where he grew to manhood.

He enlisted August, 1864, in the 43d Wisconsin Infantry, company D, serving until the close of the war. He was discharged June, 1860, and returned to Wisconsin, where in 1866 he married Emma Smith, the daughter of Warren and Sarah (Brown) Smith, early settlers of Rock County, Wisconsin, a native of Orange County, Vermont.

In 1871 they removed to Iowa, settling on section 11, Lincoln Township, where he remained until his death, March 29, 1878.
