ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Robert E. Stueve, 74, of St. Ansgar died on Saturday, May 27, 2012, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage, after a 10-week battle with brain cancer.

Memorial service will be on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the St. Ansgar United Methodist Church with the Rev. Peter Chang officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.

No visitation is planned. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.

Bob was born in rural Missouri Valley, Iowa, on December 27, 1937, to Roland and Eva (Porter) Stueve. He attended school in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Bob was united in marriage to Patricia A. Phelps on February 23, 1958, in Emmetsburg. To this union three children were born.

Bob enjoyed being a meat cutter for 48 years. He cut meat in Iowa, Minnesota and California. He owned and operated meat processing lockers in St. Ansgar, Joice, Ackley and Thompson all in Iowa. After his "two-day" retirement he took the position of head of the Mitchell County Transit Bus Service. He put on many miles for 10 years. Bob made numerous friends along the way. He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles and cousins.

Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pat, of St. Ansgar; daughter Cheryl and husband Martin Lemmon of St. Ansgar; son Dave Stueve of LaPorte City, Iowa; daughter Jill Kroneman of St. Ansgar; and grandchildren Carson Coordes and Cooper and Sam Randall.
