OSAGE MAIL CARRIED DIES AT YULE PARTY

Osage – Robert Moss, 49, rural mail carrier at Osage, died suddenly at 10:30 Wednesday night of coronary thrombosis while attending a Christmas party of Cedar Valley Produce Company employee and friends at the plant. He had not been ill.

Mr. Moss was born January 1, 1901, to Harry and Elizabeth (Lockie) Moss near Riceville. He was graduated from Riceville High School and was a member of the Student Army Training Corps at Iowa State College in World War I.

In 1922, he was married to Estella Wright of Orchard, establishing their 1st home near Riceville. They then moved to Little Cedar where he was rural mail carrier many years, coming to Osage in 1943.

Mr. Moss was a member of the American Legion,, the Methodist Church, a past master of the Riceville Masonic Lodge, a scribe of the Osage Masonic Chapter and a member of the Blud Lodge of Masons.

Survivors include his parents at Riceville, his wife, a daughter; Mrs. John Long of New York; a son, Dale, at Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, and a brother, Glenn, near Riceville.
