LEE MOSS, IDENTIFIED WITH PIONEER LIFE IN RICEVILLE , IS BURIED
Riceville, May 6 – Several members of the Masonic fraternity attended funeral services for Lee Moss at Osage Saturday afternoon. Mr. Moss died at Superior, Wisconsin Wednesday following a recent operation at Rochester.
As a younger man he lived in this community. He was a brother of Fred Moss of Osage, a cousin of Clifford Moss, auditor of Mitchell County, Harry Moss, County Supervisor, Francis Moss, Glen and Robert Moss. The services were conducted at the Shelleday funeral Home by the Masons.
The first of the year Mr. Moss presented his cousin, Glen Moss, the retiring master of Relief Lodge No. 211 at Riceville, a watch bearing Masonic insignia which was presented to Lee Moss’s grandfather, who was first master of the local lodge, then located at Brownville.
Mr. Moss left this community to enter the U.S. Mail Service. Later an asthmatic condition made his residence in a different climate necessary and he moved to Superior and engaged in the brokerage business.
Several years ago he suffered an injury in a railroad wreck from which he never fully recovered. Another brother, Will, lives in the Twin Cities.
