RICEVILLE, IOWA - Don Alyn Erbe, 80, of Riceville, died Saturday, April 14, 2012, at the Riceville Family Care Center in Riceville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with the Rev. Duane A. Lookingbill officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home.

Don Alyn Erbe, age 80, of Riceville, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012, at the Riceville Family Care Center in Riceville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Rev. Duane A. Lookingbill officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home.

Don Alyn Erbe, son of John Henry Erbe and Mabel (Wherry), was born October 2, 1931, at Osage, Iowa. Don moved to Cabool, Missouri with his family in 1949. He married Margaret Marsh November 2, 1965, in Cabool, Missouri. Don moved to Marshfield, Missouri and worked for several years. Don and Margaret later moved to northern Iowa where he worked for various dairy farmers in the Lime Springs area until his retirement. After retirement, he moved to Riceville where he has lived for many years. Don was a very friendly person and liked to visit many of the Riceville businesses and talk to people as they would come and go.

Don is survived by two sisters, Avis Kurtz and Norma (Rex) Gilmore, both of Willow Springs, Missouri. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces, Ian (Camille) Kurtz of Ozark, Missouri, Marie (Robert) Morterud of Bayfield, Colorado, John (Jolene) Erbe of Ridgeway, Jim (Diane) Erbe of New Albin, Joe Erbe of Riceville, Andrew Gilmore of Willow Springs, Missouri, Kerrie (Steven) Green of Federal Way, Washington, and Mary (Eric) Cederholm of Lincoln, California. He is also survived by numerous grand nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; and brother, Dale.
