Funeral services for Olga J. Hewitt, 82, a Mitchell County native, were held on Friday at the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake, Iowa, with Rev. J. Louk and Rev. M. Kampfe officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.
Born October 26, 1901, in Mona, Iowa, she was the daughter of Emil and Mathilda Ask Nelson. She attended school in Otranto and married Charles Hewitt on July 20, 1922 in St. Ansgar.
They lived most of their married life in the Clear Lake-Mason City area. She was well-known in Clear Lake for her catering business, which she offered for Clubs and circles in her home.
Survivors include four sons: Al of Waite Park, Minnesota, Donald of Waterford, Wisconsin, Ray of Clear Lake, and Robert of New Hope, Minnesota; four sisters: Mrs. Lula Gunderson of Stewartville, Minnesota, Mrs. Minerva Hanson of Mason City, Mrs. Tom (Esther) Wamstad and Mrs. Roy (Laura) Witt, both of Osage; one brother, Earl Nelson of Mason City; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two infant brothers.
