Funeral services for Celia A. Nelson of Osage were held on Thursday, July 5, 1984, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage. Rev. J. Nesheim officiated at the service, with burial in the Osage Cemetery. She died on July 2, 1984. Champion Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Celia A. Thrams was born on January 27, 1889 in Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, the daughter of Henry A. and Minnie A. Dexheimer Thrams. She was baptized in the Methodist church in Plymouth and attended country school until the age of 14 when the family moved to Osage, where she continued her education.

On July 25, 1906 she was united in marriage to George D. Nelson at the Methodist Parsonage in Mitchell. They lived in Brownville all their married life. During the last 16 years of the 45 they spent there, they were proprietors of the Brownville Store. Her husband passed away in 1948.

In 1951 Celia moved to the Ervin H. Dieterich farm south of St. Ansgar. After living in her own home there for the next 31 years, she suffered a stroke that forced her to enter the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar on April 29, 1982. She remained there until her death.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church since 1936 and was an active member of Martha Circle.

She was the last surviving member of the Henry A. Thrams family and was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lillie and Rosa; a brother, George, and to infant brothers, Albert and Gilbert.

Survivors include her two daughters, Elaine (Mrs. Ervin H. Dieterich) of St. Ansgar, and Violet (Mrs. Earl R. Hunt) of Everett, Washington; three grandchildren; six great-grandhcildren; and five nieces and two nephews.
