Funeral services for Laurene Hansen were held on Monday, May 14, 1984, at LeRoy Lutheran Church, LeRoy, Minnesota; the Rev. D. Hanson officiated, with burial in the LeRoy Lutheran Cemetery.
Laurene Tonette Hansen was born on September 17, 1900, at St. Ansgar, Iowa, the daughter of Saver and Gunda Nelsen. She was confirmed in the St. Ansgar Lutheran Church and grew up in that community.
She was united in marriage to Harris P. Hansen in Austin, Minnesota, on January 16, 1918. She spent her entire life on the farm in Mitchell County, Iowa, the last 44 years on the farm north of McIntire and was a member of LeRoy Lutheran Church.
Laurene suffered a stoke on May 1, 1984, and spent her last days at the Adams Health Care Center, passing away on May 11, 1984.
Survivors include her four children: Harlan of Woodbine, Iowa, Hila (Mrs. Carroll Byrd) of LeRoy, Lester, of St. Charles, Minnesota, and Galen of McIntire; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one sister, Olga (Mrs. Truman Ask) of Osage.
Preceding her in death were her husband in 1967, her parents, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, four brothers and one sister.
