Funeral services for Leo Jeffries, 68, of Osage, a retired truck driver, were held on Monday, May 14, 1984 at Champion Funeral Home in Osage. Rev. George Hope of the First Baptist Church in Osage officiated at the service, with burial in the Osage Cemetery. Military rites were conducted by the American Legion Post 278, Osage.

He died on Friday, May 11, 1984, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.

Leo Jessie Jeffries was born on February 8, 1916, in Pomeroy, the son of Frank and Elsa Kirgus Jeffries.

He was united in marriage to Irma Adams on September 28, 1944. He served in the armed forces from March 16, 1943 until October 12, 1943. He was given an honorable discharge.

He was a truck driver until his retirement in 1973.

Surviving are his wife, Irma of Osage; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Carole) Britt of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, and Bonnie Loterbauer of Manly; two sons, Leo Frank Jeffries of Parnell and Oliver Jeffries of Osage; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Cleo Green.
