Alan Gilbert

Alan Gilbert, 85, of Montrose, California, and formerly of Osage, died Wednesday, November 23, 1994, at Montrose.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Osage Cemetery, with the Rev. John Gilbert
officiating.

The body was cremated. Champion Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge of local arrangements.

Alan Gilbert was born November 10, 1909, near Osage, to Clarence and Beth (Minnis) Gilbert. He attended rural schools and Osage High School. He farmed on the family farm until 1940 when he moved to California and worked as a carpenter.

He is survived by one sister, Ona Butler, of Rudd; three brothers: John Gilbert and Lawrence Gilbert, both of Osage; and Max Gilbert of Russiaville, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Williams and Mae Nielsen; and two brothers, George and Grant Gilbert.
