Funeral services were held Monday, May 23, 1994 at the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center
for Mary A. Haren, 73, who passed away May 20, 1994 at her home of natural causes. Pastor George E. Gibson officiated, and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center. The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, was in charge of the arrangements.Mary was born February 18, 1921 at Lyle, Minnesota, the daughter of John A. and Mabel (Skjevelend) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at Deer Creek Lutheran Church in Deer Creek, Iowa.
On October 18, 1954, she was united in marriage to Naaman R. Haren at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Waterloo. They made their home on the family farm north of Grundy Center until her death.Mary was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center until health [problems] limited her activities.
Survivors include her husband Naaman; two brothers, Edward Johnson of Waterloo and Richard Johnson of Humboldt; four sisters, Myrtle A. Johnson of Waterloo, Amy Eslinger of New Hampton, Bernice Gorham of Fairmont, Minnesota, and Crystal Squier of Nora Springs; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Clifford Johnson.
