LAURA VAN HOOSER-SCHRIEMAN
DIED IN A CHICAGO HOSPITAL

Mrs. Edgar VanHooser received a message Wednesday morning telling of the death of her youngest daughter, Mrs. Stanley Schrieman, 37, who passed away at a Chicago hospital from diabetes. The body was expected to arrive here today for burial in the family lot.

Mrs. Schrieman, nee Laura VanHooser, was raised in Osage and attedned the local schools. She was gifted muscially, and for a number of years played in local theaters (during silent picture days), was also engaged in orchestra work here and later in Chicago. At different times she played with traveling troupes. She was also an accomplished organist.

Her first husband was Mr. Heflin, and to them one daughter, Laura Marie, now Mrs. Andrew Pollick, was born. She, with the aged mother, and a sister to the deceased, Mrs. Warren Godfrey, of Ottumwa and a brother, Fred, Rockwell, survive.

Mrs. Schrieman had been ill for a long time, but appeared in fairly good health when she visited her mother here about three weeks ago. She suffered a relapse from diabetes, and was ill only a few days before her death.

Funeral services will be held at the Champion funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m., in charge of the Rev. F.A. Court.
