Death of Verna May Bliss
Death comes into the home, sooner or later into every home, sometimes without any warning, and again after long weeks of preparation for its appearance. Along in the fall Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Bliss noticed that their daughter, Verna, was not in usual health and thought she would better remain at home; but yielded to her wishes and let her continue in school until the close of the term. About Christmas time she became much worse and was soon prostrated with tuberculosis of stomach and bowels which caused her death last Sunday evening.
Verna May Bliss was born May 3, 1885, and died February 28, 1897, aged 11 years, 9 months and 25 days.
The funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. S. E. Wilcox, of the Congregational church. Mr. and Mrs. Bliss have the sympathy of many friends in their affliction.
