RICEVILLE MAN DIES AFTER LONG SICKNESS

Riceville – Funeral services were to be held Wednesday at the Congregational Church for James Wentworth, conducted by the Rev. John Arnot of Byron, Illinois, former pastor here.

James Adelbert Wentworth was born October 20, 1876, near McIntire and died at his home here early Monday morning. He has been sick for over a year, the greater part of this time being confined to his bed.

Mr. Wentworth is survived by 3 sisters, Edna, who made her home with him since the death of their mother, both being single; Mrs. Walter Lonie, Riceville; and Mrs. A. J. Griffin of Dubuque.

James Adelbert Wentworth was the son of Frank and Augusta (Bettis) Wentworth. He was buried in the Wayne, Mitchell Co., Iowa Cemetery, where his parents are buried.

The Mrs. Walter Lonie mentioned in this obit is his sister Winifred C. (Wentworth) Lonie. She is buried in the Wayne Cemetery, Mitchell Co., Iowa.

The sister Mrs. A. J. Griffin mentioned in the obit was Ethel (Iva Ethel) Wentworth Griffin, wife of Arthur J Griffin. According to the 1925 Iowa Census for Ethel, her mothers’ maiden name was Bettis.
