Funeral services for Lawrence Milbrandt, 85, a retired McIntire area farmer, were held on Thursday, February 27 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. Rev. L. Connolly officiated and burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Mr. Milbrandt died on Monday, February 24 at Stacyville nursing home.

He was born on February 6, 1901 at Buffalo Center, Iowa. He graduated from high school in Elmore, Minnesota in 1919 and moved to Mitchell County in 1921. In 1922, he and Louise Johanns were married. The couple farmed in the McIntire area until retiring and moving to Osage in 1962. Mrs. Milbrandt died in 1968. He married Florence Ritter Griga in 1970.

Survivors include his wife, Florence of Osage; three daughters, Mrs. Cletus (Kathleen) Hemann and Mrs. Leon (Lucille) Werner. both of Osage, and Mrs. James (Bernice) Runde of McIntire; two sons, Robert of Rochester, Minnesota, and Ralph of Mason City; two stepchildren, Gary Griga of Charles City and Marlene Moskal of Zimmerman, Minnesota; 32 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
