Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 25, 1987 at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, for Marion L. Naber, 71, of Carpenter. He died on Monday, June 22, 1987 at a Mason City Hospital. Joel Portman and Robert Orr officiated, and burial was in the Newburg Cemetery, Carpenter.

He was born on November 7, 1915 to Gerit and Kate (Van Lengen) Naber.

He married Hattie Smith on July 1, 1938 in Osage. They lived most of their married life in Osage. Mr. Naber is a retired grain elevator manager.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie of Carpenter; one daughter, Janice Racel of Springfield, Nebraska; three sons: Donald D. of Springfield, Neb., Galen R. of Rudd, and Kenneth R. of Lynchburg, Virginia; 15 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Grace Epple of Hampton, Lucy Crowley of Waterloo, and Pearl Pike of Dumont; six brothers: Ben of New Hartford, George of Kensett, Pete of Baldwin City , Kansas, Vern W. of Dunnellon, Florida, Orvil of Greenfield, Illinois, and Orman of Las Vegas, Nevada.
