Funeral services were held Friday, June 26, 1987, at Schroeder and Sites Funeal Home, St. Ansgar, for Herbert C. Rosenberg, 89, of St. Ansgar, Iowa. He died on Wednesday, June 24, 1987, at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar. Rev. T. Hughes officiated and burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
He was born on July 3, 1897 in Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, to Edmund and Hedwig Rosenberg.
On April 25, 1925, he married Louise Olga Rasmussen. Herbert and his wife served as church custodians for a number of years. He worked on the Alaska highway in 1942. He worked for L. R. Falk Construction Co. for a number of years as a mechanic. After his retirement he worked at the St. Ansgar Enterprise.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Wesley (Dorothy) Matter of Austin, Minnesota; four sisters, Alice Dietrich of Osage, Roselund Trudeau of Mason City, Josephine Ruechel of St. Ansgar, and Louise Everts of Bell California; one brother, George of St. Ansgar, and three grandchildren.
