NEW HAVEN BABY
DROWNED IN WATER
TANK MONDAY EVE.

The tragic death on Monday evening of the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Bottema, living three miles north and east of New Haven, has caused a great deal of sorry to the people of that community. The child, a bright, active little fellow, in some way slipped away from those who were caring for him, climbed onto the edge of the large tank in the yard, used for watering the stock, fell in and was drowned.

His mother did not miss him for a time, but as soon as he could not be found a search was made, and the horror and shock can well be imagined when she found him.

The death of the little boy is one of a series of accidents and luck to happen to the Bottema family. They moved here several years ago, bought land during the high prices with the usual disastrous results, and now have this loss added to their troubles.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
