OSAGE, IOWA - Glenn Wagner, 97, of Osage, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Father Jack McClure, CPPS, officiating.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Riceville with military honors at the grave by Osage American Legion Post 278.

Glenn was born August 16, 1914, at New Haven, Iowa, the son of Stephen and Ellen (Fox) Wagner. He married Grace Backhaus on July 16, 1938, in LeRoy, Minn. Glenn served in the U.S. Army during World War II. While living in Spring Valley, Minn., he drove a gas transport truck for Ruan. They then lived in the Riceville area and later moved to Osage. Glenn enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Grace, of Osage; his daughter, Sharon Lynch of Osage; two grandchildren, Mark (Kris) Lynch of Ware, Mass., Cheryl (Tony) Woodman of West Brookfield, Mass.; three great-grandchildren, Krista (Jesse) Sorel of Rochester, N.H., Josh Lynch of Ware, Mass., and Ashley Woodman of Worcester, Mass.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gladys Jacobus, Agnes Anderson; two brothers, Robert and Leonard Wagner.
