PEDERSEN, Svend Edvin 1906-1985
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 10, 1985, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton, Iowa, for Svend Edvin Pedersen, 79, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, who died on Monday, April 8, at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar. Burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery with the Rev. J. Fladland officiating. Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar was in charge of arrangements.
Svend Pedersen was born on January 5, 1906 in St. Ansgar to Nils and Petra Pedersen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church and grew to manhood in the St. Ansgar area. He and Olga Pahl were married on May 18, 1941. He was employed by L. R. Falk for 30 yeawrs until his retirement in 1970. He then worked various part time jobs after his retirement for several area farmers and for Bill Squier Ready Mix.
He is survived by his wife, Olga of St. Ansgar; two daughters, Mrs. John (Twilla) Hammond of St. Ansgar and Mrs. Don (Diann) King of Albert Lea; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Pedersen of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. Selma Olson of Maddock, North Dakota, and Mrs. Gerda Olson of San Jose, Calif.; one brother, Erling Pedersen of Wolverton, Minnesota; three step children; one step great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
