Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, April 17, 1985, at Sacred Heart Catholic church for Garland Isaacs, 67, who died Saturday, April 13, 1985 at his farm near Osage, Iowa. Rev. Leon Connally will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Military rites at graveside will be by the American Legion Post 278 of Osage.
Garland Everald Isaacs was born on December 23, 1917, the son of Elmer and Cora (Horgen) Isaacs on the family farm, one of five children. He attended rural school in Mitchell County and Osage High School. He then served in the Armed forces in World War II.
Garland and Marcella Quinn were married on February 8, 1944. They were the parents of five children. The couple farmed in and near Mitchell County and moved to Osage upon retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella of Osage; two sisters, Mrs. Emil (Doris) Kuebler of Osage and Dorothy Tiner of Hemet, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Birchard and Robert; five children, Donna, Jerry, Charlene, Sharon and Ronnie.
