Funeral services were held on Friday, September 1, 1972, at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, for Robert Lloyd Oettchen, 54, who passed awa in the Chautauqua Nursing Home in Charles City, Iowa, on August 30, 1972. The services were conducted by Rev. B. Hinrichs.

Robert Lloyd Oettchen was born June 9, 1918 in Clear Lake, Iowa, the son of Jacob and Alta Oettchen. He had been engaged in farming. He had also served in World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Irene, Riceville; one daughter, Elaine, at home; two sons, Russell and Verlyn, both at home; two sisters, Mrs. Herbert (Helen) Mestad, Clear Lake, Iowa, and Mrs. Jennings (Bertha) Pahus, Clear Lake, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Interment was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Riceville, with military services being conducted at the cemetery.

The Chisholm Funeral home was in charge arrangements.
