Elaine Susan Oettchen of Elma, Iowa, age 39, passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa, on Thursday, November 23, 2000, due to a heart attack and stroke.
Funeral services were held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, Iowa, on Monday, November 27, 2000, with Rev. Michael Parris officiating. Burial was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Riceville. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Elaine was born on September 11, 1962 to Robert and Irene Lovik Oettchen in Mason City, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the
Lutheran faith and attended school in Ventura, Iowa. In 1971, she moved with her parents to Riceville where she continued her education. After completing her education, Elain worked as a homemaker and housekeeper in the area.
She is survived by her mother, Irene Peterson of Riceville; two brothers, Russell Oettchen of Riceville and Verlyn Oettchen of Chester, Iowa. Also surviving are two nephews, Brandon and Avery Oettchen of Chester, Iowa, and a special friend, Dean Klimish of Elma.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1972 and her step-father, Carl Peterson, in 1992.
