Funeral services were held on Monday, December 16, 1985 for Kennes Fred Huntley at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toeterville with Rev. C. Bunk officiating. Burial was in the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Toeterville.

He died on Friday, December 13, 1985 at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar, as a result of complications from pneumonia.

Kennes Fred Huntley was born on September 20, 1899 in Grundy County, south of New Hartford. He was the son of Sheridan and Minnie Cole Huntley and one of a family of seven children. He attended country school in Grundy County.

At age 15 he moved to Cedar Falls with his parents. On January 2, 1924 he was married to Leona Brandt of Toeterville. After living on a farm at Nashua for two years, he spent most of his married life in the Mitchell County area.

Kennes moved to Toeterville in 1976. He had been a resident for a short time at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Howard, and by his wife, Leona.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne of Emmons, Minnesota, and Kennes of Mankato; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; nieces; nephews; and one brother, Claude of Cedar Falls.

Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar was in charge of arrangements.
