Funeral services for Donald Lewis Wrench of rural St. Ansgar, were held on Saturday, November 30, 1985, at First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar. The Rev. Thomas Hughes officiated and burial was in the Park Cemetery in Nora Springs.
Mr. Wrench died on Tuesday, November 26, 1985 at the VA hospital in Des Moines.
Donald Lewis Wrench was the son of Leonard and Eva Wrench, born in the Rockford-Nora Springs area, was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Nora Springs. He graduated from Nora Springs High School in 1940 and joined the Navy shortly after and served in the South Pacific as radarman for three years.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Wilson on February 22, 1947 at the Lutheran church in Osage. The couple were the parents of two children and farmed on a farm west of St. Ansgar from the time of their marriage until their death. He was a member of the Carpenter Legion Post and the VFW in Osage.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lee and two brothers, Raymond and Darrell.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of St. Ansgar; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and James Trainer of Northwood; his parents, Leonard and Eva of Nora Springs; a brother, Edward of Denver, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
