Memorial services were held Saturday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Mason City, for Carl A. Erbe, 82, of Mason City. The Rev. R. Stone officiated and the body was cremated with burial in the Osage Cemetery. Champion Funeral Home of Osage was in charge
of arrangements.

Mr. Erbe died on Tuesday, November 26 at his home. He was an insurance and real estate businessman in Mason City for many years.

Born on November 8, 1903 on a farm near Osage, Mr. Erbe was the son of Henry and Mary (Gast) Erbe. He attended school in Osage and was a member of the state championship basketball team. He later attended Marquette University in Milwaukee.

On January 15, 1935, he married Mildred Lenoch in Des Moines. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary last January 15th.

Mr. Erbe was a member of Benevolence Lodge No. 145 AF and AM and Alchor Shrine No. 6, White Shrine of Jerusalem. He was also a member of the First Congregational Church where he served in various offices. He was president of the Mason City Life Underwriters in 1948 and president of Mason City Board of Realtors in 1962. Mr. Erbe was also active in Politics.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred, two daughters, Barbara Erbe of Rochester, Minnesota and Dr. Suzanne Bohn of Lincoln Nebraska; two sons, Robert of Las Vegas, Nevada and Douglas of Mason City; one brother, Welcome of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one sister, Gladys Tubbs of Osage; and four grandchildren.
