Robert J. Thompson, 1932-1985

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 30, 1985, at St. John's Lutheran Curch in Blue Earth, Minnesota, for Robert Jargean[?] Thompson, 53, of Blue Earth. Burial was in the Committallat Riverside Cemetery with military rites at graveside. Thompson died on Wednesday November 27, 1985.

Robert was born to Mr. and Mrs. Urban Thompson at Osage, Iowa, on August 10, 1932. He grew up in Osage and attended Osage schools and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and was baptized and confiremd there. In 1951, he entered the Marines and served in the Korean War.

He and Mildred Louise Harbaugh were married on November 18, 1952, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Osage. The couple were parents of five children: JoDell, Richard, Terry, Allen and Kevin.

The family lived in Osage until 1975 when they moved to Blue Earth. Robert was a member of VFW in Blue Earth and the American Legion in Osage. He and his family were members of St. John Lutheran of Osage, until transferring their membership to St. Paul Lutheran in Blue Earth in 1975.

Mr. Thompson was employed by Blue Earth Rendering.

He was preceded in death by his father, Urban, and one brother, Harold.

Survivors include: his wife; his children, his mother, Ruth Thompson Poulson; his step-father, Carl; three grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Clarence of Napa California; and a sister, Helen Emerson of Little Cedar, Iowa.
