FUNERAL SET MONDAY FOR EDWARD L. MARVEL
The funeral service for Edward L. Marvel, 81, Wessington, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Welter Funeral Home with Loftus H. Ward officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon or evening.
Marvel died Saturday morning at St. John’s Hospital. He was born December 3, 1884, in Prophetstown, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Marvel. In 1905 he moved to Wessington where he both farmed and was engaged in carpentry.
He married Florence Morris, January 23, 1907, at Osage, Iowa. He continued to reside in the Wessington community until his death.
Survivors include seven sons; Guy, Wessington; Robert, Aberdeen; Arthur (Jack), Brandenton, Florida; Leonard; Eddie; Luverne; and William; all of Huron; two daughters; Mrs. Velma Pesicka, Colville, Washington; Viola, Mrs. R. E. Schwartz, Huron; 29 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one brother in Florida.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1955, one infant son, two sisters and two brothers.

Edward Lewis Marvel married Florence Adelia Morris, the daughter of Abraham William Morris and Lucinda Belle (Strickland) Morris.
Florence was born April 3, 1885 in Mitchell County, Iowa and died March 10, 1955 in Beadle County, South Dakota.
Her parents are buried in the Beaver Creek Cemetery, Mitchell Co., IOwa
Edward and Florence were buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Huron, Beadle Co., South Dakota
