Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 30, at the First Lutheran Church, Pontiac, Illinois, for James T. Wold, 54, of Pontiac and formerly of St. Ansgar, Iowa, who died on Thursday, March 28, 1985, at his home. Graveside services were held on Monday, April 1, 1985, at First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar, Iowa.
Mr. Wold was born on September 18, 1930, in St. Ansgar, to Ferdinand and Anna Chilson Wold. He was educated in St. Ansgar schools and attended St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota, for one year. He graduated from the University of Iowa, Iowa City.
Mr. Wold was a registered pharmacist for 28 years. He owned the Low Cost Pharmacy in Pontiac, Illinois, and sold it in January 1980. Prior to that he managed the Galesburg Clinic Pharmacy, Galesburg, Illinois, and was manager of Witte Drug Store in Burlington before that.
He and Elizabeth Klemesrud were married on March 21, 1954 in Osage.
Mr. Wold was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict and was stationed in Germany. He was active in the First Lutheran Church in Pontiac as well as with Boy Scouts. He was past president of the Western Illinois Pharmaceutical Association and the Pharmaceutical Association in Iowa, as well as a member of the VFW and Elks Club.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Jane;" two sons, Erik, Joliet, Illinois, and Leif Thomas, Pontiac, Illinois; and one sister, Jean McChesney, Phoenix, Arizona.
The family requests the memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
